Tarot Cards - TV, Books, & Movies

Tarot cards and decks of TV, books and movies. These Tarot decks feature familiar characters and images from books, television or film - or were themselves featured onscreen.

Carnivale Tarot

The Carnivale Tarot is a 78 card deck, created for the HBO television show, Carnivale. It was created in a rush by a design company lacking in tarot knowledge, and has uninspired masked faces with differing decorations on each card rather than any imagery relating to the television series.

Dark Shadows Tarot

The deck is based upon the 1968 soap opera "Dark Shadows", which was the first television show to feature the tarot for readings, warnings, and magical spells as an integral part of the plot. Cards feature script lines and pictures from the series.

Disney Afternoon Tarot

The very talented Lar has combined Disney characters in the standard Tarot scenes to create a wonderful cartoon-like deck. Unfortunately the deck is not for publication.

H.P. Lovecraft Tarot

A compelling and dark tarot deck, with sepia-toned artwork in the vein of H. P. Lovecraft, writer of horror and science fiction.

Lord of the Rings Tarot

A tarot deck and game inspired by Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy. Thick borders surround the complex and busy but nicely coloured artwork, and a quote from one of the books printed on each card.

Movie Monster Tarot

The Movie Monster Tarot is a fun deck of 23 cards, featuring well-known monsters and horror movie stars like Frankenstein, Elvira, Freddy Krueger, Dracula and more.

Mystic Rubaiyat

The Mystic Rubáiyát is a set of seventy-five cards created to illustrate the first edition of Edward Fitzgerald’s ‘translation’ into English of Omar Khayyám’s Rubáiyát, part of a collection of four-line verses that survive from eleventh-century Persia. Published in a limited edition of 100 decks.

Romeo and Juliet Tarot

Also known as the Romeo and Juliet Tarot, the Shakespeare Tarot is a beautiful deck from artist Luigi Scapini where the cards are linked with scenes and characters from the Bard's plays. The minor arcana are pip cards, but also have colourful illustrations

Shakespeare Oracle

The Shakespeare Oracle is actually a 78-card Tarot deck, despite the name (which was chosen to differentiate the deck from others with similar themes). The major cards feature characters from the Bard's plays. The minor arcana are pip cards, but feature a relevant Shakespearian quote inscribed on a white banner in the centre.

Star Trek Tarot

A personal tarot deck, not for publication, featuring characters and scenarios from the original Star Trek series. The Star Trek Tarot art has been drawn in felt pens and the style is campy and Sixties - classic Trek.

Tarocchi del Cinema

The Tarocchi del Cinema is a black and white Italian Tarot of 22 cards, each featuring a portrait of a movie star from the sixties. Not just any stars of the big screen, either, these are ae pictures of Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Jack Nichsolson and more.

Tarot of Jane Austen

The Tarot of Jane Austen is a wonderful tarot with characters and situations from the books of 19th century English author, Jane Austen. The cards are fully-illustrated, and mainly feature scenes from Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Sense and Sensibility, and Mansfield Park. Available as a standalone deck, now in a kit with a companion book.

Tarot of Oz

L. Frank Baum's fifteen Oz books, the most famous of which is the Wizard of Oz, provided the inspiration for these polished and charming tarot cards. Even non-Oz fans can enjoy the Tarot of Oz.

Tarot of the Morning Star

The Tarot of the Morning Star is a visual representation of the concepts artist Roger Williamson explores in his books, Howling at the Sky, Black Book of the Jackal and Lucifer Diaries. The first edition is a majors-only deck of 75 signed copies.

Tarot of the Witches

The Tarot of the Witches was featured in a James Bond 007 film, Live and Let Die. It's rather ugly.. and not to be confused with the Witches Tarot, which is far different and much better.

Wonderland Tarot

All the characters from Alice in Wonderland in this Rider-Waite reworking. The Wonderland Tarot also includes Tweedledee and Tweedledum as the Lovers.
