Description
Against a green background a hand is dropping six irregular disks into a stone bowl nestled in greenery.
Symbolism
The stars represent the hope and the help we give and receive from one another. The hand is all of our hands, in giving and in receiving. The stone bowl is physical world we live in, and the reality of it. The greenery is for growth and flourishing. The spiral in the background is the spiral energy of life. The blue sleeve represents our blue planet, and that ours is becoming a global society, where everything affects everything else.
Card Meaning
It was important to me to go beyond the traditional image of one person helping or giving to others directly. Our world has expanded so much that now when we help others by giving time, money, material goods, or energy we frequently do not know the face of the people we are helping. Nor do we know just who is helping us, in our turn. I see the giving and receiving in a vast spiral, which is part of life. This is not charity in action; it is justice. We are only doing what we should, caring for each other in both times of hardship and times of plenty. We give what we get; we get what we give. It's a circle where no one loses.
