Description
I've been discussing the history of Tarot a lot lately, and have
commented that we have no "Little White Book" to accompany the oldest
decks. I wonder what such a book would have looked like? What would a
journal page from the inventor of tarot have looked like? That's the
basis for this card, a found page describing the thoughts of the
creator of the Tarot.
Symbolism
The text really plays the role of symbolism on this card... little
notes and sketches that convey the thoughts of a creator at work. I
wanted the feel to be similar to a Di Vinci notebook, full of math and
relational notations.
Card Meaning
Often referred to as "The Wish Card", the Nine of Cups is said to
material happiness and contentment.
Artistic Media
The paper was created in Photoshop using the "clouds" filter, then
randomly "burned" to effect aging. The goblet was shot with a digital
camera, then several filters were used to get the "sketch" like
appearance. The font is "Zapfino".
Artist's Bio
This is the third card I've done for the deck, the others are The
Hanged Man and 10 of Wands. After working on these cards, I have the
greatest respect for those that have skill and dedication to create an
entire deck.
