St Martins Press Tarot Cards

Angel Oracle

The Angel Oracle has 36 illustrated angel cards divided into three hierarchies of heaven: form, creation, and paradise. There are archangels, dominions and virtues, personal angels and more on the yellow-brown coloured cards.

Celtic Tarot

Not to be confused with the other Celtic Tarot decks, this particular deck by Julian de Burgh shows scenes from Irish mythology in a misty, pretty watercolour style.

Druid Plant Oracle

The Druid Plant Oracle is from the authors of the Druid Animal Oracle. These cards feature individual plants, herbs, and flowers illustrated in natural landscapes.

Elemental Tarot

The Elemental Tarot fits a system of astrological combinations to the 78 cards of the Tarot, so knowledge of astrology would be helpful when reading with this deck.

Enchanted Tarot

The unique artwork in the Enchanted Tarot is made with fabric, by quilting and applique. The cards are intricate and highly patterned, in soft greens, purples and pinks, and the effect is quite attractive.

Fortune Teller's Deck

Basically a deck of playing cards (four suits of thirteen cards plus two jokers), the Fortune Teller's Deck is intended for divinatory uses. The artwork is old-style and the cards have an aged look.

Intuitive Tarot

The Intuitive Tarot has 78 original paintings for developing your intuition, creative subconscious, and self-improvement. The card art is mostly abstract and has a slight Thoth Tarot flavour though follows the Rider-Waite more closely in tradition.

Lovers Tarot

Jane Lyle's Lovers Tarot is a majors-only Tarot deck made especially for questions of love. The figures and scenes are very medieval/Renaissance style and maps, constellation charts, astrology and alchemy all make an appearance.

Medicine Cards

Discover power through the ways of animals, using traditional Native American animal associations. The Medicine Cards feature a nice cameo of the particular animal, but are a little on the plain side.

Moon Oracle

The Moon Oracle follows the rhythms of the moon in its 72 cards. It is an introduction to lunar astrology, and has cards for the moon phases, moon mansions, and lunar goddesses.

Osho Transformation Tarot

The Osho Transformation Tarot features parables and legends from Zen, Buddhism, Christian, Tantra and other religions. It has 60 cards and is not really a Tarot deck; it has no major arcana or suits.

Osho-Zen Tarot

Based on the transcendental game of Zen, the Osho Zen Tarot is a non-traditional deck of 79 cards. There are many changes that suit the Zen theme, including one extra major arcana card for Osho, and four suits of fire, clouds, water, and rainbows. Most of the cards are inspiring and stunningly beautiful, while others tend towards being cartoon-y.

Rune Cards

The Futhark system of runes has been transferred to a deck format, with illustrated artwork incorporating the appropriate runic symbol on each of these 25 Rune Cards from Ralph Blum.

Runic Tarot

The Runic Tarot has 24 major arcana linked with the runes of Celtic mythology, while the four suits represent the seasons. Created by Caroline Smith and John Astrop, who also created the Elemental Tarot.

TAO Oracle

The Tao Oracle is a visual approach to the I Ching, in 64 cards. The cards are lovely, as you'd expect from Ma Dava Padma, who also created the Osho Zen Tarot.

Tarot of Paris

Awe-inspiring collages created from thousands of images of Paris's classic and modern art and architecture. The photographs in the Tarot of Paris are original and were taken by the artist over a twenty year period.

True Love Tarot

The True Love Tarot is designed to give advice on finding love and on your love relationships. It has 78 cards with fabric collages, which are in a similar detailed style as the Enchanted Tarot and Zerner Farber Tarot on the majors and court cards. The minor arcana are divided into suits of Gems (Pentacles), Wings (Swords), Shells (Cups) and Roses (Wands), and are individual cards that are pretty but disappointingly pip-like, with repetitive and non-scenic images.

Wisdom of the Maya Oracle

Wisdom of the Maya is an oracle deck featuring images of stone carvings based on Mayan artistic symbolism. It has 45 cards, divided into five suits of Old Gods, astronomical cards, sacred animal cards, sacred form cards, and day/number cards. Now available as the Maya Deck.

Zerner-Farber Tarot

A reworking of the Enchanted Tarot by the same authors, the Zerner-Farber Tarot deck uses more vibrant colours and removes the borders from the cards so more of the tapestry artwork can be seen. The deck is available in several configurations - a standalone deck, or with a companion book in the Instant Tarot Reader set, or The Tarot Discovery Kit box set with guidebook, pouch and DVD.
